The Snow Viewing Series depicts grass drawings that were created by chance in the high snow due to a whim of nature. The artist captured these fragile, reduced plant fragments, reminiscent of Chinese ink drawings, photographically during a hike. The preoccupation with chance, transience and the unrepeatable temporal moment of creation form the basis of this work. The fragility of the subject is underscored by the rasterization, sanding and color shifts that occurred during application.
